YOU ARE INVITED TO THE ANNUAL ONHS ART NIGHT!
The many talents of Oshkosh North students will be featured during the ONHS Art Night held on Thursday May 19th from 5-7 p.m. Community members, parents, family, friends and North high students will have an opportunity to view the variety of ceramics, photography, jewelry, computer art, paintings, drawings and glass artwork created by our students over the course of the school year. The Music Department will provide entertainment with performances by the string and symphony orchestra.
Oshkosh North will also be unveiling a brand new mural! The mural will celebrate our diverse school population and give awareness that Oshkosh North is a home for everyone. Currently over 50% of North students are at an economic disadvantage, 22% are students of color, and 18% have a disability. Every current student at North had an opportunity to create and personalize their own tile. The tiles were then assembled into an image that represents North pride and unity in diversity. The diversity mural was funded by the Oshkosh North Multicultural Club and AMP program.
Art students will invite you into the art classrooms to create a photogram in the darkroom to take with you or to see a wheel throwing demonstration with clay. The Art department is hosting an art sale that will benefit an $500 ONHS Memorial Art Scholarship to benefit ONHS Art students through the Oshkosh Community Foundation in memory of David Dix and Yer Yang.
We are very excited about this year’s Art Night and hope you are able to attend. The artwork will also be on display during school hours from May 19th-25th located in the hallway from the West entrance to the technology and engineering hallway.
